Sleep

Most people tend to be sleep deprived, and some even like to brag about how little sleep they need. The truth is, few things will destroy your health (and hormones) quicker than not sleeping or not getting enough sleep.

In fact, sleep is so crucial to good health that one should not expect to get well if they're not sleeping well.

What are some consequences of being sleep deprived?

    •    Lowered immunity to infections

    •    Increased risk for diabetes, cancer, depression, neurological disorders, and inflammation

    •    Worsen behavioral problems in children, worsen constipation, aggravate chronic pain

    •    Weight gain

    •    Premature aging

    •    Poor mitochondrial health

In fact, a lack of sleep is likely to aggravate and exacerbate any health problem you currently have and increase your risk of dying for any reason...i.e. you are more prone to getting sick and dying simply by being sleep deprived!

How does this happen and how can you start making the most of your zzzzs? Watch the video to learn some strategies for creating better sleep.
